Psalms 119:71-72 (KJV)
71 It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.
72 The law of thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver.
Be encouraged today that affliction has a purpose. It is to bring us near to GOD, to seek Him, to learn His ways, to be transformed… James wrote about afflictions and their purpose for us: “James 1:2-4 (KJV) My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; [3] Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. [4] But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.”
Therefore it is better to have the Word of God in us than any amount of riches. This is because it brings us to GOD, it is our manual for life how GOD meant it to be so that we don’t break down by not following the manual. Just like the required maintenance of a car so it will be useful for a long time.
“Psalms 119:80 (KJV) Let my heart be sound in thy statutes; that I be not ashamed.” When we follow the manual we won’t be ashamed before GOD and people, as we have nothing to hide, we will be come more like Jesus Christ and be a blessing to others, glorifying Jesus.
“2 Timothy 3:16-17 (KJV) All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: [17] That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”
