Coveting, giving and receiving – 2025.10.16

Acts 20:33-35 (KJV) I have coveted no man’s silver, or gold, or apparel. [34] Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me. [35] I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Let us be encouraged today to follow Paul’s example. There is a saying actions speak louder than words “1 John 3:18 (KJV) My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.”.

Paul did not covert and desire what other people had but was content with what he has. “Philippians 4:11 (KJV) Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.”, “1 Timothy 6:6 (KJV) But godliness with contentment is great gain.”

Instead let us be those like Paul to freely give, for it is better to be a giver than a receiver.
