1 John 2:9-11 (KJV)
9 He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.
10 He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.
11 But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.
Love is part of the fruit of the Holy Spirit and by walking in love we demonstrate that we are in Jesus Christ. Practicing love ensures we do not cause other to stumble and we will not stumble ourself. On the other hand if we hate our brother or sister we demonstrate that we are walking in darkness, the flesh and are carnally minded. Hate and anger blinds us and then we can not see clearly and make decisions that that will cause others and us to stumble and be harmed.
Therefore let us be encouraged today to choose to walk in love and reject any hateful and angry thoughts and attitudes.
“3 John 1:11 (KJV) Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.”
