Psalms 105:1-5 (KJV)
1 O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.
2 Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.
3 Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.
4 Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore.
5 Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;
We will now look at the action the LORD wants us to do as outlined in these verses.
We are encouraged to remember His marvellous works. Today is Christmas Eve and we especially remember and cerebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ, Emanuel (GOD with us) coming here to earth to save us who were lost is the most marvellous work GOD ever did. It is the pivot point in history.
“John 3:16-18 (KJV) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. [17] For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. [18] He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”
When things do not go well let us be encouraged to remember GOD’s marvellous works so we will not loose hope but keep trusting in the LORD.
The rest of this Psalm goes through recollecting/remembering some of the wonderful things the LORD did so we can see examples of how He rescued those who called on the name of the LORD. We can take these things as an encouragement and know He will do something marvellous in our life.
Let us pray. Father you are so good and great. Marvellous are you works. They are beyond comprehension. Thank you for sending Jesus Christ and saving us when we believe and follow Him. We put my trust in you and look to you despite the circumstance we face. Deliver and save me in Jesus name.
