Psa 130:5-6 (KJV)
5 I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.
6 My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.
Let us be encouraged today to keep waiting on the LORD.
Prayer is more that asking GOD for help. There are many other aspects to it and one of them is waiting.
When we ask the LORD for guidance or help for example what we then need to do is wait. Asking and waiting both require hope and faith.
“Psa 130:7 (KJV) Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption.”
Waiting for the answer requires us to be listening to GOD by the Holy Spirit.
It can entail any things like:
- Reading His word the bible.
- Listening for His still small voice.
- Watching and being attentive – looking for signs for example.
- Thanking and praising the LORD.
- Being patient.
- Trusting Him.
- Being still, “Psa 46:10 (KJV) Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.”.
- Being persistent in prayer till we know that we know that we have the answer
- Etc..
“Psa 130:2 (KJV) Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.”
“1Jn 5:14-15 (KJV) And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: [15] And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.”
Let us pray. Father we thank You that we can ask You anything in the name of Jesus Christ that is in Your will and You will answer and do it. Help us to wait patiently for You and teach us to wait on you. in Jesus name amen.
