How to praise the LORD – 2026.05.01

Psalms 9:1-2 (KJV)
1 To the chief Musician upon Muthlabben, A Psalm of David. I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works.
2 I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.

Today let us be encouraged to praise the LORD throughout the day. We can see here two attitudes:

  1. Whole heart – This shows us to give Him 100% attention. It is not singing but our thoughts are somewhere else. We have done this but let us aim to give the LORD GOD Almighty our all.
  2. Rejoice – the LORD is to be praised with joy and thanksgiving looking back at the wonderfull things He has done.
In this psalm we see two ways to express our worship “Psalms 9:11 (KJV) Sing praises to the LORD, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings.” https://bible.com/bible/116/psa.9.11:
  3. Speaking – that is telling everyone about the great things GOD has done and who He is.
  4. Singing – Singing GOD’s praises, who He is and what He has done.

Let us pray. Father we pray that you help us to praise you wholeheartedly. Help us not to let our mind wander but having it fixed on you. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
