Luke 24:44-48 (KJV)
44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
48 And ye are witnesses of these things.

It is humanly impossible to comprehend the scriptures. The bible is the inspired word of GOD. It is a manual of life given to us by GOD. It reveals to us who GOD is, our state and His wonderfull and incomprehensible way of redemption. “Ecclesiastes 3:11 (ASV) He hath made everything beautiful in its time: also he hath set eternity in their heart, yet so that man cannot find out the work that God hath done from the beginning even to the end.”. Only GOD Himself by the GOD the Holy Spirit can give us understanding of the word and His works. Jesus in verse 45 opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures.

The way GOD works is by His Holy Spirit. “Zechariah 4:6 (KJV) Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.”. We need GOD to reveal Himself to us just like He did to Peter. “Matthew 16:16-17 (KJV) And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. [17] And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.”

If it is totally up to GOD to give us understanding we might come to a conclusion that we do not have to do anything and just wait for GOD to show up. The way GOD works is that He calls and expects us to answer. “Matthew 4:19-20 (KJV) And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. [20] And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.”. So GOD calls and we respond. He puts in us a desire to know Him, to seek Him out. And when we answer this call we start seeking and He promises “Matthew 7:7-11 (KJV) Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: [8] For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. [9] Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? [10] Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? [11] If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?”.

Therefore be encouraged today to as it says in Isaiah 55:6 (KJV) “Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:”. Be totally convinced that when GOD put the desire in your heart to know Him that He will reveal Himself.
We are to study His word which He gave to us. “2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV) Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”. And as we do that He will by the Holy Spirit teach us His ways and reveal His word to us. “John 14:16 (KJV) And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;”, “John 14:26 (KJV) But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”. And as we receive His word let it be mixed with faith, total trust in and responding to GOD. “Romans 10:17 (KJV) So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
