Psalms 143:5-6 (KJV)
5 I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands.
6 I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah.
In 1 Chronicles 16:4 (KJV) king David did the following: “And he appointed certain of the Levites to minister before the ark of the LORD, and to record, and to thank and praise the LORD God of Israel:”
Therefore we are to:
- Record – Commemorate/Celebrate
- Thank
- Praise the LORD
Here in Psalms 143:5-6 it gives us a way that will help us to do so. We do this by:
- Remembering,
- Meditating,
- Musing (being in deep in thought, contemplating something.) on the works of GOD in our life, in others peoples life and most importantly in the Word of God.
When we do this we recall GOD’s goodness, His ways, …. And out of that one can not help to celebrate, going thankful and give praise to GOD.
Therefore be encouraged to remember, meditate and muse on His word and the things the LORD GOD Almighty has done.
This is especially helpful when as in Psalms 143:4 (KJV) when we are overwhelmed and empty “Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is desolate.” To do this.
The best thing for us is when we do is to do this on a daily basis not only in an emergency.
“1 Chronicles 16:8-12 (KJV) Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people. [9] Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him, talk ye of all his wondrous works. [10] Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD. [11] Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually. [12] Remember his marvellous works that he hath done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;”
