Being faithful in the little things – 2024.12.12

Luke 16:10-12 (KJV)
10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.
11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?
12 And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, who shall give you that which is your own?

Here we see a principle. If someone is faithful and trustworthy with a little thing then that person can be expected to be faithful with much more. The little things are a proving ground for us. The LORD will keep testing our faithfulness until we become faithful in the little things, only then will He entrust us with more. This goes for both the material and the spiritual.

One of the test GOD uses is the money/riches He entrusts us with. If we are good stewards with these worldly things the LORD will entrust us with true spiritual/heavenly riches. GOD the Holy Spirit, GOD the son Jesus, and GOD the Father, each give us and entrusts us with gifts to use for the Kingdom of God “1 Corinthians 12:4-6 (KJV) Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. [5] And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. [6] And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.”

The other things is that if we are unfaithful we cannot have the satisfaction and joy which comes by being faithful. Faithfulness results in rewards. “Luke 19:17 (KJV) And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.”. Can we be entrusted with and use wisely what has been given to us?

Therefore be encouraged today to be faithful in the little things and see what stewardship GOD has entrusted us with and with the help of the Holy Spirit to be wise and use it for the purpose GOD intended. When the GOD gives us a gift we are to use it faithfully according to the measure of faith we now have. “Romans 12:4-8 (KJV) For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: [5] So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. [6] Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; [7] Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; [8] Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.”
