Waiting for our heavenly body – 2025.01.10

2 Corinthians 5:1-10 (KJV)
1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:
3 If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.
4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.
5 Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.
6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

The seed of sin was carried to us from when Adam sinned by disobedience to GOD. “Galatians 3:22 (KJV) But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.” Every person born inherits this, except Jesus Christ who was born of the Holy Spirit. “Luke 1:34-37 (KJV) Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? [35] And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. [36] And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren. [37] For with God nothing shall be impossible.”.

We can be so thankful that Jesus Christ, who did not inherit sin and never sinned, came to deal with our sin. The perfect sinless sacrifice, the Lamb of GOD. “John 1:29 (KJV) The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.”, “2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV) For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”

Now if we believe in Jesus Christ we are saved from the consequences of sin, which is eternal separation from GOD in hell. “Matthew 18:11 (KJV) For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.”, “Luke 12:4-5 (KJV) And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. [5] But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.”. And not only that but, as we read in 2 Corinthians 5:1-10, the LORD prepared for us a place in heaven and cloth us with a new heavenly body totally free from sin.

Therefore be encouraged that the pain and suffering we endure here on earth will be nothing compared to what awaits us in heaven, if we are found in Jesus Christ. Everything will be new. Our salvation will be complete. Let us look ahead and eagerly wait for Him calling us home but in the meantime to remain steadfast and faithful to the work He has given us here on earth to do representing Him. “2 Corinthians 5:17-21 (KJV) Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. [18] And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; [19] To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. [20] Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. [21] For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
