1 Corinthians 11:1 (ASV) Be ye imitators of me, even as I also am of Christ.

When we observe a brother or sister in the LORD we can see thing that reflect Jesus Christ and others that do not. For example someone might be demonstrating kindness.
This demonstrates to us how kindness can operate and it should inspire us how to be kind to others. By following this good example we then imitate them and Jesus Christ.

But the same person might also not keep their word even if it was possible for them to still keep it. This this is not something we should follow or let inspire us.

This teaches us that we should not follow everything someone but only that which reflects Jesus Christ.

Let us therefore be encouraged today to imitate others in what reflects the character and action of Jesus Christ but not to imitate the things in others that do not do this.

Let us pray. Father, I like to be most like Jesus Christ. Let others see you reflected in my life more and more. More of you and less of me. Let me to see you working through other brothers and sisters and be encouraged by them and their good examples to do likewise. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
