2 Kings 18:3-5 (KJV)
3 And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that David his father did.
4 He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brasen serpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan.
5 He trusted in the LORD God of Israel; so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor any that were before him.

Things which GOD uses to perform miracles, like here the bronze serpent to save people from the snake bites, can become an idol that is worshiped. King Hezekiah did something about it. This can even happen these days.

Therefore let us be encouraged to only worship the LORD GOD Almighty and not anything material that He used for a miracle or that represents Him. Let us focus on Jesus Christ and let not our heart wander to symbols and and worship them.

Let us pray. Father in the name of Jesus Christ, help us to always focus on You and not the things that You used and are using. Forgive us when we have looked to the things you made and worshiped them in our heart instead of you. Amen.
