Exhausted person carrying an overwhelming burden

Carrying more than you were meant to carry – 2026.11.02

Matthew 11:28-3 (WEB)
28 “Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Here is a contemplation from someone anonymous.

Perhaps you are exhausted from carrying what you were never meant to carry alone.

You have prayed for healing, waited for a door to open, and tried to remain strong while familiar things change, precious people leave, and the future becomes harder to see. Maybe you are still trusting God while quietly wondering how much longer you can hold on.

If that is where you are, hear this gently:

You are not forgotten. You are not alone. And Christ has not changed.

Beneath every loss, delay, disappointment, and unanswered question stands one unshakable truth:

Christ is enough.

Do not cling so tightly to the gifts in the Father’s hands that you forget to hold fast to the Father’s heart. Even when prayers seem delayed, tears outnumber answers, and the road ahead disappears into the mist, Christ remains.

  • When health fails, He is our Healer.
  • When friends leave, He is our Companion.
  • When strength fades, He is our Sustainer.
  • When the night grows long, He is our Light.
  • And when our final breath comes, He will still be there.

The world teaches us to measure life by what we possess. Heaven teaches us to measure it by Whom we possess. If we have Christ, we have not been left poor. We have the Treasure that cannot be diminished by time, stolen by circumstances, or taken from us by death.

His name is Jesus.

He loved us before the foundation of the world. He came near, carried our sorrows, bore our sins, conquered the grave, and now intercedes for us.

Crowns fade, possessions disappear, and applause falls silent. But Christ remains—our Portion, Shepherd, Strength, Peace, Hope, and eternal Treasure.

“For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” — Philippians 1:21

“Whom have I in heaven but you? There is no one on earth whom I desire besides you.” — Psalm 73:25

“Yet I will rejoice in Yahweh. I will be joyful in the God of my salvation!” — Habakkuk 3:18

When everything else is removed, He is still enough.

His grace, presence, cross, resurrection, and love are enough.

Because He lives, our story does not end with the grave. He is the First and the Last, the Living One who was dead and is alive forevermore. He holds the keys of Death and Hades, and no one can snatch His sheep from His hand.

So lift your eyes above your changing circumstances and build your hope upon Christ. My heart has found its home in Jesus—and there it shall remain.

One day, faith will become sight, and we will stand before our Saviour face to face. Then we will see that every joy was a whisper of His kindness, every sunrise a reflection of His glory, and every true love an echo of the love that flowed from Calvary.

Hold fast to Christ.

  • When everything changes, Christ remains.
  • When everything fails, Christ remains.
  • When everything fades, Christ remains.

Christ is enough.

Lord Jesus, be our Portion when everything else is gone, our Strength when we are weak, and our Hope when the way is unclear. Teach us to rest in Your presence, trust Your heart, and hold fast to You above every gift. Anchor our hearts in Your unchanging love until faith becomes sight. Amen. 🙏♥️
