HOW CAN I BE SURE I HAVE ETERNAL LIFE?

1. ETERNITY – Where Are You Going?

Eternity means forever! It means that yesterday, today and tomorrow are not all there is. Eternity means that there can be life beyond this life we now live.

What do you feel is the best way to be sure we have eternal life?

  • Keeping the Ten Commandments
  • Gifts to the church or the church
  • Doing your best
  • Living a good life
  • Good works
  • Trying to obey the Golden Rule
  • Going to church
  • Believing in God
  • Praying to God etc.

The Bible says that all these things may be good in themselves, but they will never guarantee eternal life.

It may surprise you to know that good people don’t necessarily have eternal life.

2. GOD’S PLAN – For Eternal Life

The question now is – “How can I be sure that I have eternal life?”. The problem is we have broken God’s Law and Commandments and stand guilty and condemned.

However, God can forgive us and give us eternal life.

The Bible says, “For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

But What Is Eternal Life?

Jesus Christ said, “Now this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.”

John 17:3

3. OUR PROBLEM – Separation

People by nature are separated from God.

We have all disobeyed God and gone our own willful way.

The Bible says, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23

Romans 6:23 adds: “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” People have tried to bridge this separation in many ways….without success.

“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like an eagle…” ISAIAH 40:31

4. GOD’S ANSWER – The Only Way

THE GOOD NEWS is that CHRIST Bridges the separation between GOD Who is Holy and OURSELVES who are sinful.

Jesus Christ is both Lord and Saviour! He is the only way back to God.

John 14:6 (WEB) Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.

If this helped, encouraged, or blessed you, pass it on to someone else who will benefit.

“Freely you received, so freely give.” [Matthew 10:8b (WEB)]
