1 Timothy 6:11-12 (KJV)

11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

Let us flee: love of money, and everything listed in 1 Timothy 6:4 (KJV) He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
And let us pursue what it says in V11: righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness (these are fruits brought forth by the Holy Spirit and fight the good fight as we are in war for our soul/mind against the devil who lies, deceives, tricks, pretends, misleads, brings doubt, brings fear, condemns, accuses, perverts, aborts, kills, seeking to devour, …. Let us hold fast to the confession of our faith. We are to look to Jesus in our fight/race for He is the one who started it and will help us complete it by the power of the Holy Spirit 

Hebrews 12:1-2 (KJV)

1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
