2 Timothy 1:6-10 (KJV)
6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.
7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;
9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:
Everyone has been given gifts God has given us. When we gather together is an opportunity to discover them and a great opportunity to keep: reminding each other of the gifts He has freely given, stirring up and using the gifts God has given to each one of us.
I have discovered that fear stifles us in what God called us to. Thank God that He has given us love, power and a sound mind so we can overcome fear, don’t need to be ashamed of Him and walk in His purpose for us. We are His witnesses, we have a holy calling. We have obtained: salvation, holy calling, gift, purpose,… because of what He has done and we have believed in the gospel, not because of what we have done.
Let us be thankful and praise Hi Name for this and that He has abolished death so we can live with Him forever.
