Psalms 81:13-14 (KJV)

13 Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways!

14 I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries.

There is a correlation between obedience to the Lord and deliverance from (victory over)  our enemies.
James 4:7 (KJV) Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Shows us that if we don’t submit to God then we are on our own and won’t be able to walk in victory over our sin and the enemy. If we submit to Jesus, He gives us the ability to resist and the devil will move to someone else till another opportune time. It is like Jesus said if we build our house on Jesus Christ the Rock (obeying what He says) no storm can wash us away but if we don’t we will crumble.

Matthew 7:24-27 (KJV)

24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:

27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
