Spitting At The Feet Of Jesus – 2024.03.07

Luke 10:38-42 (KJV)

38 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.

39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word.

40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.

41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:

42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

I am challenged here that the most important thing is to sit a Jesus feet, praying, reading His word and hearing what He is saying, instead of running around serving.
Out of the sitting at His feet comes Devine lead service. Let us not be distracted from this by the many good things we can do instead.
Also looking at this there seems to be two ways to be hospitable.
One is giving full attention to once guest having what is needed prepared in advance, reducing the work during the visit and leaving the clean up till they are gone.
The other is to be busy serving and being distracted by that instead of giving full attention to once guests.
Lord Jesus help us to sit at your feet every day and give full attention to you what you are saying.
