1 Timothy 1:15-16 (WEB)
15 The saying is faithful and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
16 However, for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first, Jesus Christ might display all his patience, for an example of those who were going to believe in him for eternal life.

There are a variety of sayings in the New Testament. Here in 1 Timothy 1:15 we find one of them.

It tell us that Christ came to save sinners (1Ti 1:15; 1Ti 4:10; Mat 1:21; Jhn 3:16: Gal 1:4) and Paul describes himself as the greatest one of all because he was a blasphemer, persecutor the church, an insolent man, one who was uplifted with pride, heaped insulting language upon others, rude, someone who did shameful acts of wrong.

We all know that we have sinned in many different ways.

“Romans 3:23-24 (WEB) for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God; [24] being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus;”

Let us be encouraged that despite our sin Jesus Christ came to save us. He is both patient and merciful, caring for every individual person. He wants us to become an example of His love, patience and mercy to help others realise that they too can receive His mercy and can start life again with a clean slate before GOD.

How wonderful is this! Let us thank Him and in turn be used by Him to glorify Him in our life that others bought come to know the saving grace as well.
