2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV) For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Let us be encouraged today that Jesus Christ Himself took our sin and paid for them on the cross. The penalty of sin is death and for us to pay it would result in eternity in the lake of fire separated from GOD. GOD does not want this for us because of His great love for us. That is why Jesus Christ came to bring salvation by paying for our sins, past, present and future. Jesus Christ did not sin Himself. He was the perfect sacrifice. Not only that but Jesus Christ Himself is the only one who is righteous.

“1 John 2:1-2 (KJV) My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: [2] And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.”

Because of Him being righteous we can become righteous not by our own effort but by faith in Jesus Christ.

“Philippians 3:9 (KJV) And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:”.

Therefore let us repent and believe in Jesus Christ and the work He did on the cross to pay for our sins and bring us into His family so that we might be with Him for eternity.

“John 3:16-18 (KJV) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. [17] For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. [18] He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”
