Joel Chapter 1:1-20
The Locust Plague

2 ๐บ Hear this, you elders,
3 ๐บ Tell your children about it,
4 ๐บ What the swarming locust has left, the great locust has eaten.
5 ๐บ Wake up, you drunkards, and weep!
6 ๐บ For a nation has come up on my land, strong, and without number.
7 ๐บ He has laid my vine waste,
8 ๐บ Mourn like a virgin dressed in sackcloth
9 ๐บ The meal offering and the drink offering are cut off from Yahwehโhouse.

A Call to Lament
13 ๐บ Put on sackcloth and mourn, you priests!
14 ๐บ Sanctify a fast.

A Cry to the LORD
19 ๐บ Yahweh, I cry to you,
20 ๐บ Yes, the animals of the field pant to you,
Joel Chapter 2:1-32
The Day of the LORD
1 ๐บ Blow the trumpet in Zion,
2 ๐บ A day of darkness and gloominess,
3 ๐บ A fire devours before them,
4 ๐บ Their appearance is as the appearance of horses,
5 ๐บ Like the noise of chariots on the tops of the mountains, they leap,
6 ๐บ At their presence the peoples are in anguish.
7 ๐บ They run like mighty men.
8 ๐บ One doesnโt jostle another.
9 ๐บ They rush on the city.
10 ๐บ The earth quakes before them.
11 ๐บ Yahweh thunders his voice before his army,
Return to Me with All Your Heart
12 ๐บ ‘Yet even now,’ says Yahweh, ‘turn to me with all your heart,
13 ๐บ Tear your heart and not your garments,
14 ๐บ Who knows? He may turn and relent,
15 ๐บ Blow the trumpet in Zion!
16 ๐บ Gather the people.
17 ๐บ Let the priests, the ministers of Yahweh, weep between the porch and the altar,
The LORDโs Pity for His People
18 ๐บ Then Yahweh was jealous for his land,
19 ๐บ Yahweh answered his people,
20 ๐บ But I will remove the northern army far away from you,
21 ๐บ Land, donโt be afraid.
22 ๐บ Donโt be afraid, you animals of the field;
23 ๐บ ‘Be glad then, you children of Zion,
24 ๐บ The threshing floors will be full of wheat,
25 ๐บ I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten,
26 ๐บ You will have plenty to eat and be satisfied,
27 ๐บ You will know that I am among Israel,
I Will Pour Out My Spirit
28 ๐บ ‘It will happen afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh;
29 ๐บ And also on the servants and on the handmaids in those days,
Wonders in the Heavens and Earth
30 ๐บ I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth:
31 ๐บ The sun will be turned into darkness,
32 ๐บ It will happen that whoever will call on Yahwehโname shall be saved;
Joel Chapter 3:1-21
The Nations Judged
1 ๐บ ‘For, behold, in those days,
2 ๐บ I will gather all nations,
3 ๐บ and have cast lots for my people,
4 ๐บ ‘Yes, and what are you to me, Tyre and Sidon,
5 ๐บ Because you have taken my silver and my gold,
6 ๐บ and have sold the children of Judah and the children of Jerusalem to the sons of the Greeks,
7 ๐บ Behold, I will stir them up out of the place where you have sold them,
8 ๐บ and I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hands of the children of Judah,
Prepare for War
9 ๐บ Proclaim this among the nations:
10 ๐บ Beat your plowshares into swords,
11 ๐บ Hurry and come, all you surrounding nations,
12 ๐บ ‘Let the nations arouse themselves,
13 ๐บ Put in the sickle;
14 ๐บ Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision!
15 ๐บ The sun and the moon are darkened,
16 ๐บ Yahweh will roar from Zion,
The LORD Dwells in Zion
17 ๐บ ‘So you will know that I am Yahweh, your God,
Blessings for Judah
18 ๐บ It will happen in that day,
19 ๐บ Egypt will be a desolation
20 ๐บ But Judah will be inhabited forever,
21 ๐บ I will cleanse their blood
