Psalms 25:4-5 (KJV)
4 Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.
5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.

Let us be encouraged to have this attitude described here. David was eager to know GOD’s ways. He desires the LORD Himself to teach him the path the LORD has for him to walk in. He is eager to know the truth and the LORD to teach the truth to him. The reason for this is that the LORD GOD Almighty is his salvation. This requires total trust in the Jesus Christ, being humble, obedient, willing to be corrected, willing to change and teachable.

David did this not half hearted but with purpose and commitment waiting on the LORD all day. Let us not follow the easy way “Que sera, sera.” (Spanish/Italian for “Whatever will be, will be.”) but instead pursue the LORD Jesus Christ. Having a unsatisfiable desire to know Him more resulting in desperate seeking and waiting however long it takes to be shown, taught and lead by Him. This is not a once off thing but something that the LORD wants us to cultivate in our life to be ongoing.

Paul described his pursuit of Jesus Christ in Philippians 3:9-16 (KJV) “And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: [10] That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; [11] If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. [12] Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. [13] Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, [14] I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. [15] Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. [16] Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.”

Let us pray. Father in the name of Jesus Christ we come to you. Change our heart make us so hungry to know You, Your ways and Your paths that You have for each one of us to walk in and not only to know them but for you to lead us in them as we walk in them. Help us to pursue you and not give up but to keep on going even when the path you lead us in is getting hard and difficult. Amen
