1 Timothy 1:2 (WEB) to Timothy, my true child in faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
Grace, mercy and peace come from GOD the Father and Jesus Christ GOD the Son outworked by the GOD the Holy Spirit in our life. Grace, mercy and peace are part of GOD’s character.
Grace is: Giving of divine favour freely and power granted by God.
Mercy is: Unmerited favour, giving compassion, giving of kindness and forgiveness, alleviation of distress by giving relief.
“Exodus 33:19 (WEB) He said, “I will make all my goodness pass before you, and will proclaim Yahweh’s name before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy.””
Peace is: Having peace with GOD (before having faith in Him were His enemies – and yet He loved us and made the way for us to be reconciled to Him). It is also inner peace despite what is happening around us coming form complete trust in Jesus Christ.
“John 14:27 (WEB) Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.”
Anyone can know and experience these precious gifts form GOD. They are free and required no effort to obtain. All that is needed is having faith in the good news (gospel) of Jesus Christ.
