Matthew 4:12-17 (KJV)
12 Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee;
13 And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim:
14 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
15 The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;
16 The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.
17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. https://bible.com/bible/116/mat.4.12-17.NLT

15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. https://bible.com/bible/116/mrk.1.4-5.NLT
Luke 4:14-15 (KJV)
14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.

What does this tell us about who Jesus is?
- Jesus Christ is the light of the world. He brings light to the spiritual darkness of the sinful world, individual people and redemption (repurchase us through the payment on the cross as we sold to sin at the fall of Adam).
- He is the preacher of the Kingdom of God and repentance
- Jesus Christ is the end game.
What does this tell us about the ministry of Jesus ?
- Jesus Christ waited till John’s ministry finished by imprisonment.
- His ministry was in the power of the Holy Spirit.
- He has come to do the will of GOD.
- Jesus Christ taught in the synagogues.
- It is implied that Jesus went to spiritually dark places which was in Galilee of the gentiles (non Jews).
- His teaching was accepted – at this time there was no rejection, everyone praised Him.
- After the baptism of Jesus Christ, the declaration of GOD the father, the Holy Spirit descending on Jesus Christ and the temptation of the devil Jesus Christ started His ministry.
- The ministry of Jesus Christ was prophesied in the OT ”Isaiah 9:1-2 (KJV) Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations. [2] The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.” https://bible.com/bible/116/isa.9.1-2.NLT
