1 Timothy 1:1 (KJV) Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope;
As we saw in Who Jesus Christ is – 2026.07.23, GOD the Father gave Jesus Christ His only begotten Son, being GOD the Son so that we can be saved from our sins and its consequences. We also saw in Commanded To Be An Apostle – 2026.07.22, that in turn Jesus Christ gave gifts to the church to help us grow and be equiped to fulfil our purpose.
In turn, as followers of Jesus Christ, GOD has made us ambassadors of Himself to tell people of the gift that GOD has so freely given out His great love, Jesus Christ, so that they might know the gosple (the good news) and be reconciled back to Him. Coming into a personal relationship with Him by faith in Jesus Christ.
“2 Corinthians 5:20-21 (KJV) Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. [21] For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”.
Gifting requires two participants and various actions. Lets us consider someone gives us a wrapped gift. There needs to be a Giver (here GOD) to present the gift. The receiver (us) need to accept the gift and take it. At that point the giver has to let go of the gift and the receiver to take hold it. If the giver does not release it it can not be take in possession. If the receiver does not hold it, the gift will fall to the ground.
Therefore let us be encouraged that when we receive or have received GOD’s gift of salvation we hold on to it tightly and do not drop it. We have to take full possession of it. We have to guard it so that no one else can rob us from this precious possession. If we have not done so, do not despair, but instead take the gift from Jesus Christ again and be determined to never let go of it again.
Let us do what Paul instructed Timothy in 1 Timothy 6:11-12
“(KJV) But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. [12] Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.”.
To help us fight this good flight let us put on Jesus Christ who is our amour. Only in Him is the victory.
“Ephesians 6:10-18 (KJV) Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. [11] Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. [12] For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. [13] Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. [14] Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; [15] And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; [16] Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. [17] And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: [18] Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;”
